Women In Leadership believes that women are the hearts and the backbones of our families and communities. In order to keep our families and communities whole, united, and healthy we need to keep women in leadership roles.
That's why we're here!
Stacy and Carissa know women who want better lives and to be better women, but who also don't know how to heal from past traumas or to live independently or how to stop using substances that continued to be their demise.
During Stacy and Carissa's incarceration, they both witnessed women leave and return back to prison, only to leave and return over and over again throughout the years. It hurt to watch the women who were so desperate to return to their children, to their personal lives, and to their communities struggle to overcome the vicious cycle of incarceration.
Something needed to be done... something needed to change.
Once Stacy and Carissa completed their prison and parole sentences, Women In Leadership was officially born. Because they had successfully beaten America's outrageously high 76% recidivism rate by not returning back to prison, they are now able to share their path to success with as many other afflicted women as possible. And that's because...
Women In Leadership is about helping women rebuild their lives using the same stones that were once thrown at them.
Women in Leadership is about knowing a woman's worth and standing for her future - a brighter, more equitable future
Women in Leadership is about giving back to the women and young girls in our lives so that they know it's possible! Living the life of your dreams is possible!
